Fortunately, there is a way to remove it (and the annoying dog) from the explorer window, but still keep Windows Search running as an app by itself.
Just click on Start menu/run or press the Windows button and R.
regsvr32 /u “%programfiles%\Windows Desktop Search\wdsShell.dll”
That does it.
Nothing against dogs, but Windows Search in WinXp is just annoying. Fortunatly they fixed that in Vista and Seven. Now I use it a lot, but at work – where I use an XP machine, I really don’t want the windows search annoying window!
