A friend called, he had some problems with updating to the newest flash player version. Some research led me to Adobe’s Troubleshoot Flash Player installation for Windows.
Some years ago I worked with Flash and we had similar problems every now and then. The simplest solution was to uninstall flash completely (you could use an uninstaller like Revo), then download Adobes flash uninstaller…
Remember: Before reinstalling flash, make sure all programs that use the Flash plugins are shut down.
Download uninstall_flash_player.exe and run it with the following command uninstall_flash_player.exe /clean
… then download the latest version
- Flash_Player_ActiveX (Internet Explorer for Windows only)
- Flash_Player_Plugin (All other Windows browsers)
and finally reinstall Flash… that should work…
To verify that the installation went well, navigate to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If you need to change settings in your flash player, navigate to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html
Make sure your flash player accepts cookies… that’s a normal problem.
