Sunday, September 19th is the day when Sweden will choose who will rule the country the next four years.
LunaWorX.net has always tried to maintain a neutral point of view without getting involved in religious or political issues, the following letter may seem political but it’s not. It’s a humble request to our future prime minister to simply fulfil all the promises given…
The letter is inspired from a text by Luis Aguilé, written 2007.
I am an ordinary citizen and with only one vote.
You asked me for it, as you asked many others that you convinced. So I gave it to you, full of hope and waiting for the day when you fulfil everything that you promised.
I know it’s not easy to rule country, to distribute the wealth and provide with home and food for each and everyone. I really hope that you do it well, without exceptions, and that you will imprison those who deserve to pay for all the corruption.
Please impose the law, we – the people – don’t want to lose our way of life. We are peaceful people, we have no means to fight the criminals… and you promised us to protect our nation!
As reply for the surveys who want to know what we expect from you: Please make it a priority to make an end all the insecurity. We can’t continue this way, you have to understand – it’s only getting worse. It has to change!
You see, that when you go out on the streets, you will be protected by guards and vehicles, but we are exposed to criminality on daily basis. We fear to go out by night, we can’t live a normal life – this is the nation we know, this is a nation ruled by corruption and crime.
Enforce the law. You promised to protect us!
…and finally all I ask now is that my modest vote isn’t forgotten by you, the day when you take your place in history. When you enter your position as Prime minister, please don’t think only of your party members, don’t think you will stay elected life. Do fall for the temptation to adapt the nation and the constitution to your own convenience. Do not ever lie to us, do not use demagoguery to deceive the people, do your job with honesty…
…this goes with all respect to you…
…our future Prime minister.
