This Saturday was a day of sorrow for me and LunaWorX, the graphics card on the Amilo Xi 2428 died. So the computer became rather useless. All my projects and code is still inside the Amilo so I need to find a way to salvage the information.
Still it was a sad day when the Amilo died. I bought it on August 2008 and it helped me through the whole programming education, it was also my companion on my trips all over Sweden, looking for new objects to take photos of, and some different weird adventures.
On of the most fascinating adventures was when I called the Fujitsu Siemens support because the computer shut down when playing Force Unleached. The man on the other line of the phone got totally crazy and started yelling accusations of me having virus on my computer, that my computer was surely full of spyware and other stupidity as reasons to why my computer crashed. I asked if he was paid to be that annoying and he went nuts again screaming more stupidity. I gave up and hang up, then I mailed Fujitsu asking what kind of idiots they had on the support department. A week later I got a mail explaining that the problem with the tech support had been handled. Stil, I did not get any help with running the game… ‘
The Amilo also survived a huge rainstorm, because I hid it inside a plastic bag – inside my backpack. My old Dimage Z3 camera didn’t make that time.
Anyway, it feels sad to let my trusty and faithful computer go. I will try to locate a new graphics card for it, hopefully it will work… Till everything is fixed, I won’t be able to go on working on my programming projects…
